Command Spanish®, Inc. is a unique, short-term training program that teaches your employees the necessary job-related Spanish commands that they need to be effective when communicating with non-English speaking persons who only speak Spanish.  It does not teach grammar, and does not require any previous Spanish language experience!  Class hours are lively and active as participants associate job-related tasks and gestures with the lines that they are learning.

This limited Spanish for occupation-specific tasks both prepares participants to have an excellent command of the lines they would repeatedly use throughout their day and enables them to get direct, simplified answers that they can easily understand from their clients.  Although they will not have complete conversational fluency, it will seem as though they do since they will have mastered the Spanish that they need.

Training can range from 8-48 hours, depending on clients' needs and interests

After 8 hours of instruction, for example, participants:

• know approximately 30 lines in Spanish
• read Spanish using phonetics for English speakers

After 16 hours, participants:

• know approximately 45 lines in Spanish
• read the Spanish print/sound system (can pronounce the actual Spanish)
• receive1-2 hours of cross-cultural instruction

As the instructional time increases, the participants learn more lines—50 is the maximum—and get more cross-cultural instruction. The number of total training hours would be mutually determined in a meeting during which we would discuss your organization’s goals and scheduling constraints. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of training as they demonstrate their language mastery through a performance test.  To reinforce their skills and to learn additional phrases, participants can utilize the CD that is included in the back of the book.
